The movie “Priscilla” (original title) is set to be nationally released in Japan starting from April 12th (Friday).
Directed by Sofia Coppola, known for films like “Virgin Suicides” and “Lost in Translation,” and distributed by A24 in North America, the film is based on the memoir “Elvis and Me” (original title: Elvis and Me) published by Priscilla Presley in 1985. The movie portrays the fateful encounter, marriage, childbirth, and separation between Priscilla Presley and Elvis Presley, who was already a superstar at the time, from the perspective of director Sofia Coppola.
Priscilla is played by Cary Spinney, who played the heroine in “Pacific Rim: Uprising. Elvis was played by Jacob Elordi, known for his role as Nate in the drama “Euphoria. Kaley Spinney won the Best Actress Award at the 80th Venice International Film Festival for this film, and was nominated for the Best Actress Award at the 81st Golden Globe Awards, which announced the results on January 7 (Sunday).
In conjunction with the announcement of the Japanese title and release date, scene photos were also released. Eight new images showing the days of Priscilla and Elvis, who fall in love, were released.
