The highly anticipated film ‘Alien: Romulus’ is set to stream exclusively on Disney+ from Wednesday, January 1, at 5:00 PM JST.
First released in Japan on September 6, this survival thriller picks up the story of the legendary 1979 sci-fi masterpiece ‘Alien.’ The film follows six young individuals, adrift in life, who venture onto the space station “Romulus” in search of hope. What they encounter instead is a desperate fight for survival against the deadly alien creatures that haunt the station.
‘Alien: Romulus’ is directed by Fede Álvarez (‘Don’t Breathe,’ 2016) and produced by ‘Alien’ creator Ridley Scott. The film features Cailee Spaeny in the lead role of Rain, fresh off her Best Actress win at the 80th Venice International Film Festival for her performance in ‘Priscilla.’ The cast also includes David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, and Isabela Merced.
For fans of the franchise, Disney+ offers the complete ‘Alien’ series, including the original ‘Alien,’ which won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects at the 52nd Academy Awards. A dedicated page presenting the films in chronological order is also available, making it the perfect time to revisit the iconic saga.
