The organizers have unveiled the fifth lineup for “SYNCHRONICITY’24,” the urban music and culture festival scheduled to take place on April 13 (Saturday) and 14 (Sunday) across 10 live houses in Shibuya, Tokyo.
In its 19th year, the festival embraces the theme “CREATION FOR THE FUTURE.” The previously disclosed lineup features 44 groups, including Shibusasakiz Orchestra, People In The Box, PC Music Club, and the return of Rega after a six-year hiatus. Additionally, introducing GriffO (鬼否), a post-rock/mass rock band from Hangzhou, China, marking its inaugural performance in Japan.
The announced lineup includes KIRINJI, Elephant Gym, Omoinotake, I Don’t Like Mondays., ExWHYZ, CENT, Sarasa (band set), Shodai Aratani, New Tokyo, Ochunism, UEBO, and futures.
Elephant Gym is the second overseas artist to be announced, following the previously announced GriffO (Oni Negai), a three-piece band from Kaohsiung, Taiwan, formed in 2012 that will perform at “Summer Sonic” in 2016 and “Fuji Rock Festival” in 2022. In December 2023, they will release their 4th full-length album “WORLD” featuring Seiji Kameda and others. From January 25 (Thu.) to 28 (Sun.), the band will perform in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka as part of their world tour. This will be their first appearance in “SYNCHRONICITY” since 2018.
Ticket Pia has started pre-sales for the 5th lineup. Tickets will be available until January 20 (Sat.).
