A new song by Utada Hikaru has been chosen as the theme song for “Kimi ga Kokoro wo Kureta Kara” (Because You Gave Me Your Heart), a Fuji TV’s Monday drama series that will begin airing on January 8 (Mon., national holiday).
It has been 23 years since Utada wrote the theme song for a “Getsu 9 (月9/Monday 9 pm)” drama since “Can You Keep A Secret? It has also been about 16 years since “Eternally -Drama Mix” for “Innocent Love” aired in October 2008, the first time a Fuji TV drama theme song was written for the network. The song is scheduled to be unveiled on the drama’s first broadcast on January 8.
Utada will celebrate the 25th anniversary of her debut with the single “Automatic/time will tell” on Saturday, December 9, 2023, and will release her first best album “SCIENCE FICTION” in 2024. In 2024, he has announced the release of his first best album “SCIENCE FICTION” and a nationwide tour “SCIENCE FICTION TOUR 2024” for the first time in six years.
