Demon Slayer Announces New Season and Sneak Peak of First Episode During World Premiere Tour

The latest season of the anime “Demon Slayer: To the Hashira Training” is set to be broadcast in spring 2024.

The work, based on the manga of the same name by Koyoharu Gotouge, follows the protagonist Kamado Tanjiro, a young boy who joins the Demon Slayer Corps to turn his sister Nezuko, who has been turned into a demon after their family was slaughtered by demons, back into a human. The story depicts the relationship between humans and demons, along with intense sword fights. The original comic series, spanning 23 volumes, has surpassed a cumulative circulation of 150 million copies.

In 2019, the anime “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Third Season” aired, followed by the movie “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Mugen Train” in 2020. From 2021 to 2022, the anime series “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Mugen Train Arc” and “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Entertainment District Arc” were broadcast. In April 2023, the anime “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Forge of the Village Arc” was released. The “Pillar Training Arc” serves as the fifth installment in the series of TV anime, and the information was announced through the worldwide simultaneous release of the promotional reel titled “Anime ‘Demon Slayer’ Promotion Reel 2024” in April 2023.

In the upcoming “Pillar Training Arc,” Kamado Tanjiro is depicted engaging in training with the skilled members known as “Pillars” of the Demon Slayer Corps, preparing for a decisive battle against the demon Kibutsuji Muzan. The animation will continue to be produced by ufotable, and the first episode will be broadcast as a one-hour special.

Simultaneously, it has been confirmed that starting from February 2, 2024 (Friday), the “World Tour Screening: ‘Demon Slayer’ Miracle of Bonds, and Towards Pillar Training” will take place in 427 theaters nationwide. During the world tour screenings, the 11th episode of “Forge of the Village Arc” and the 1st episode of “Pillar Training Arc,” including IMAX screenings in 50 theaters, will be optimized for theatrical viewing. It’s worth noting that the first episode of the “Pillar Training Arc” will have its world premiere during the world tour screenings.

The world tour screenings will be sequentially held in theaters in over 140 countries and regions worldwide, with stage greetings scheduled to take place around the globe. In Japan, stage greetings are scheduled for February 2 (Friday) and February 3 (Saturday), with both days also planned for live viewings. Subsequently, stage greetings will be held in New York, Seoul, Mexico City, Singapore, Jakarta, Paris, London, Taipei, and Hong Kong.

Additionally, it has been decided that the “Kimetsu Festival – Anime 5th Anniversary Celebration” will take place on March 9 (Saturday) and 10 (Sunday) at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, and the “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Orchestra Concert Melodies of Demons Forge of the Village Arc” will be held on May 18 (Saturday) at Tokyo Garden Theater in Ariake, Tokyo. Details for these events will be announced as they become available.
