Katamari Damacy Hosts First Pop-Up at Shibuya PARCO Gallery X

“The first-ever pop-up event for the game ‘Katamari Damacy,’ celebrating its 20th anniversary since the release of the original title, will take place at GALLERY X BY PARCO on the underground first floor of Shibuya PARCO from December 14th (Thursday) to December 24th (Sunday).”

In the action game, the player controls the 5-centimeter-tall protagonist “Oji,” who rolls a “lump” that sticks to everything and rolls it around objects and creatures to make them bigger. In the beginning, only small objects can be rolled in, but eventually, people, cars, buildings, airplanes, and even natural phenomena are rolled in to grow into a giant “lump,” which is then transformed into a star that colors the night sky.

The pop-up store will sell a total of 58 types of game-related merchandise, including full-size princes, mates stickers, magnetic acrylic stands, and bovine trainers. As a purchase bonus exclusive to the pop-up store, purchases of 3,000 yen or more including tax will receive an “Ouji Rainbow Potty Bag” and purchases of 8,000 yen or more including tax will receive an “Ouji Rainbow Shopper”. The store will also feature interior design that expresses the world view of “KOTSUMI”, a photo spot, and novelties limited to the venue.
