“Dr. Mashirito: The Strongest Manga Technique” was published on Friday, July 21.
The book is a compilation of manga editor Kazuhiko Torishima’s own manga artist training techniques, which were serialized in “Saikyou Jump,” with significant additions and revisions. Torishima was in charge of Akira Toriyama for “Dr. Slump” and “Dragon Ball,” Masakazu Katsura for “Denei Shoujo,” and Koji Inada for “Dai no Daiboken,” among others. The book’s cover is a new drawing featuring two characters, Son Goku from “Dragon Ball” and “Dr. Masirito,” Toriyama’s characterization of Torishima.
Also included as a special feature is a conversation with Toriyama, Katsura, and Inada, as well as “Ano Koro no Torishima to Toriyama,” newly drawn by Toriyama.
