Additional cast members and this poster visual for “SAND LAND,” an anime film based on Akira Toriyama’s novel, to be released on August 18.
Akio Otsuka will play Satan, the father of Beelzebub and the leader of demons. Tomokazu Sugita plays the father of the Swimmers, a family of rogues who are after the bounty on Beelzebub and his friends, and his sons Pike and Shark, dressed in sea pants and swimming goggles, Koji Yusa, Hiroyuki Yoshino, and Masafumi Kobatake were cast as their sons, Pike, Shark, and Guppy.
In addition, the poster visual has been unveiled. The image of Rao and General Ze facing each other with a determined expression as if surrounding Beelzebub, who faces forward with a dignified expression, gives the impression of an explosive atmosphere, while the demons, including Shifu, who shows a silly expression, give the viewer a sense of Mr. Toriyama’s ability to keep the comical side of a serious story in mind. The visuals are finished with Toriyama’s unique style, which never forgets to be comical even in a serious storyline.
