The music video for Kenshi Yonezu’s latest song, BOW AND ARROW, has been officially released. The track serves as the opening theme for the currently airing TV anime Medalist and was entirely written, composed, and arranged by Yonezu. The single’s cover art features an illustration of the anime’s protagonist, Inori Yuitsuka, drawn by Yonezu himself.
Based on the manga by Tsurumaikada, Medalist follows the story of Tsukasa Akeuraji, a former skater who gave up on his dreams, and Inori, a young girl aspiring to become a figure skater. As coach and athlete, the two form a partnership, pushing toward their shared goal of becoming true “medalists.”
The newly released MV presents a striking contrast between Yonezu, who sings against a vast open sky, and professional figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu, who performs elegant yet powerful routines on the ice. In the latter half of the video, Hanyu is seen skating around Yonezu, adding a dynamic element to the performance.
Premiering on YouTube at 8 PM on Wednesday, March 5, the MV quickly gained traction, surpassing 4 million views in less than two days. The skating choreography featured in the video was designed by Hanyu himself, and on his X (formerly Twitter) account, he shared details of the technical elements incorporated, including a triple Axel (3A).
The music video was directed by Kyotaro Hayashi, who previously worked on Kenshi Yonezu’s RED OUT and M87. The skating scenes featuring Yuzuru Hanyu skating alongside Yonezu were filmed by Hiroshi Okuyama, who has experience in figure skating. Both Hayashi and Okuyama have shared their thoughts and behind-the-scenes insights on social media.
Kenshi Yonezu has successfully wrapped up the domestic leg of his Kenshi Yonezu 2025 TOUR / JUNK, which drew a total of 350,000 attendees. The final performance took place at Tokyo Dome on Thursday, February 27, marking a triumphant conclusion to the Japan tour.

The highly anticipated world tour will include performances across Asia, Europe, and the United States, further expanding his reach to international audiences.
