Kamasi Washington is set to return to Japan this October for a series of shows in Tokyo and Yokohama.
The Los Angeles–based multi-instrumentalist, composer, and bandleader has built a global reputation with releases such as The Epic, Heaven and Earth, and Fearless Movement, pushing beyond the boundaries of contemporary jazz. In recent years, he has also expanded into visual media, including scoring the anime Lazarus directed by Shinichirō Watanabe.
The upcoming run includes two-night stands at Billboard Live Tokyo on October 19 and 20, followed by a show at Billboard Live Yokohama on October 22, with two performances scheduled each day.
Pre-sale tickets for Club BBL members and corporate members go on sale April 28, with general sales set to begin May 5.
