Hong Kong’s DAVID BORING Sets Two-Night Asia Tour Finale in Tokyo

Hong Kong post-punk band DAVID BORING will wrap up their Asia tour with two shows in Tokyo on November 27 and 28.

Drawing on post-punk, noise and industrial music, DAVID BORING have developed a sharp, abrasive sound shaped in part by the tension of their home city. The band are signed to UK label Damnably, alongside internationally active Asian artists including Otoboke Beaver, LIGHTERS and Say Sue Me. While based in Hong Kong, they have built connections across Asia’s indie and alternative scenes through performances and collaborations in Japan, South Korea and beyond.

The Tokyo dates will mark the finale of the band’s “MIDNIGHT! EARTH! MACHINE!” ASIA TOUR 2026, which has taken them across Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, South Korea and Taiwan.

The first show takes place at SPREAD in Shimokitazawa on November 27, with saxophonist Kei Matsumaru joining the lineup. Matsumaru works across jazz, improvisation, contemporary music and hip-hop, and has performed with artists including Dos Monos as well as touring internationally with Geordie Greep.

The second show will be held at CYCLONE in Shibuya on November 28, with Black petrol, who have performed at festivals outside Japan, rising noise rock and post-punk band Ettou, and one additional act.

Both shows will be filmed by LIV, a video collective documenting alternative rock performances and culture. Footage from the concerts will be recorded and the shows will also be livestreamed.
