NiEW’s free-entry live music series exPoP!!!!! will return to Spotify O-nest in Shibuya, Tokyo, on July 31 with a lineup featuring Minagawa Obore Collective, Mekong, Gingersamm, and Massage Attack.
Led by Tokyo-born musician Minagawa Obore, Minagawa Obore Collective crafts intimate songs from fragments of memory and everyday scenery, bringing its delicate sound to the stage in a full-band format.
Tokyo four-piece Mekong blends folk, indie rock, city pop, and grunge into a nostalgic, lo-fi sound. Following the release of their debut EP Glider, the band recently expanded its reach with the 2026 album Mikan.
Gingersamm, the duo of Kyoshi Yamada and Tomoya Kataoka, pairs folk-rooted songwriting with R&B- and soul-informed rhythms. Their debut EP Namae, produced by Mitsuru Kawabe of Mitsume, arrived in May, while a performance at this year’s Fuji Rock Festival is also on the horizon.
Completing the bill is Massage Attack, a four-piece rock’n’roll outfit formed in 2024. The band has drawn attention for its multi-vocalist approach and eclectic songwriting, showcased on its debut album 1,000,000,000 Attack.
