NHK will begin rolling out 19 past drama titles globally on Netflix starting June 22.
The lineup includes a range of productions spanning Taiga dramas, morning dramas, and Drama 10 series. The initiative marks a further expansion of NHK’s international distribution efforts, aiming to bring Japanese stories, culture, and society to wider global audiences through Netflix’s large scale multilingual and subtitle supported platform.
Streaming will begin rolling out from June 22, with six titles launching first: Gunshi Kanbei, Manpuku, Descending Stories: Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju, The People I Loved Were My Family, TClassroom Across the Sky, and Tokyo Salad Bowl.
Additional titles will be added over time, with a total of 19 works scheduled to be available on Netflix during the 2026 fiscal year.
