A24 is bringing its latest buzz title The Drama to Japan, with a nationwide release set for August 21.
The film centers on a seemingly perfect couple whose relationship spirals after a devastating secret surfaces just days before their wedding. The twist-heavy story has already ignited online debate following its U.S. release.
Opening in 3,047 theaters stateside on April 3, the film pulled in roughly $14.38 million in its first weekend—ranking as the third-biggest debut in A24 history, behind Civil War and Marty Supreme.
The cast is led by Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, with Alana Haim, Mamadou Athie, and Haley Gates in supporting roles. Direction and screenplay come from Kristoffer Borgli, with Ari Aster producing.
