A24 is bringing its latest title the moment to Japan on June 5, with Charli XCX front and center both on and off screen.
Conceived by Charli XCX, the film sees the pop star team up with A24 and director Aidan Zamiri, known for his work with Billie Eilish. Set in the aftermath of her real-life album BRAT becoming a breakout hit, the story dives into the chaos behind global fame — from label pressure and management tensions to the constant intrusion of social media.
With Charli playing a version of herself during the album’s promotional cycle, the film deliberately blurs the line between reality and fiction, leaning into the instability of pop stardom.
The cast includes Alexander Skarsgård, Rosanna Arquette, and Kylie Jenner. Two posters have also been unveiled — one capturing Charli in a manic, bubblegum-bright moment, the other echoing the lime green aesthetic of the BRAT campaign.
