NiEW’s free-entry music event exPoP!!!!! Vol.183 is set for March 27 at Spotify O-nest in Shibuya, Tokyo.
Held with support from TuneCore Japan, the latest edition brings together four rising acts: iVy, Yukiguni, Sugar House, and o_all.
iVy is an alternative pop unit formed by fuki (Vo/Gt) and pupu (Vo/Key) in 2023, based in Tokyo. Centered around the fictional character “iVy-chan,” their sound blends elements of shoegaze and dream pop with a distinctly 2020s pop sensibility, reflecting themes of inner instability through a unique, stylized world.
Yukiguni, a Tokyo-based indie rock trio formed in 2023 by members born in 2003, are known for their intricately arranged harmonies spanning bass to vocals. Their debut album pothos won the Kanto Block Award at the CD Shop Awards 2025, and they further gained attention with an appearance on the ROOKIE A GO-GO stage at FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL 2025, followed by a solo tour across three cities in China.
Sugar House, formed in Tokyo in 2019, is a rock band that creates genre-blurring sounds. Their self-titled debut album Sugar House was released in 2024, building on their early dark and solid style while incorporating synthesizers into their sound since tracks like “So Bad.” The band is currently active with additional support members.
o_all, selected through an audition held on TuneCore Japan, is a four-piece rock band characterized by a fusion of modern emo, post-rock, and dream pop instrumentation with escapist yet melodic songwriting. They released their first single “curtain” in 2024, followed by their debut EP dream deep dreams in 2025, and their second single “Taimusurippu Shitai” in 2026.
