The first wave of performing artists for the “2024 MAMA AWARDS” has been announced.
One of the largest K-Pop award ceremonies, the MAMA AWARDS began as the “Mnet Video Music Awards” in 1999. It was rebranded as the “Mnet Asian Music Awards” in 2009 and has been held as the “MAMA AWARDS” since 2022. The 2023 ceremony took place at Tokyo Dome, where NewJeans won Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for their track “Ditto,” while Seventeen took home Album of the Year for “FML,” and BTS received Worldwide Icon of the Year.
The 2024 awards will be held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on November 21 (Thursday), followed by performances at Kyocera Dome Osaka in Japan on November 22 (Friday) and 23 (Saturday/Holiday). The event is known for featuring numerous performances by leading artists from Korea, and this time, nine groups have been confirmed as part of the first performance lineup.
On the 21st, ILLIT, KATSEYE, and RIIZE will perform in the U.S. On the 22nd in Japan, ENHYPEN, IVE, and TOMORROW X TOGETHER will take the stage, followed by aespa, INI, and ZEROBASEONE on the 23rd. More performers will be announced in the coming days.
The awards ceremony will be broadcast live on Mnet, Mnet Smart+, and the Mnet K-POP YouTube channel. Tickets for on-site attendance at Kyocera Dome Osaka are currently available through an official pre-sale, with the application deadline set for October 19 (Saturday).
