Soramichi Sawada’s album “Hikari” will be released on December 11 (Wed.).
Soramiri Sawada made her major label debut in December 2023, and released her latest single, “Oyasumi” (Good Night), in June 2024.
The album, their first major album, includes their debut single “Will” and six newly written songs related to “Will. The album jacket and newly released artist photo are by photographer Kajun Osada.
On November 10 (Sun), a screening event for the film “Tea and Miso Soup” will be held at CINEMA NEKO in Ome, Tokyo. Tea and Miso Soup” is a short film produced to commemorate the release of “Hikari,” and was written by Daisuke Ohno, who also wrote “Tsujiyomi Koibo,” and directed by Harelama Yoshida, who usually works on Sawada’s music videos. In addition to the screening, the event will include a mini live performance and a talk session with the film’s staff and cast, and is expected to be a great opportunity to experience Sawada’s thoughts on the album and the film.
In addition, a one-man live “Winter Melon and Garland Chrysanthemum” will be held at Daikanyama UNIT in Tokyo on December 15 (Sun.) to celebrate the album release. The live will be performed by a band.

As I created more songs that seem to speak to someone specific, I found the lines between purpose and means increasingly blurred. In that light, this album feels like it’s aimed at no one in particular. Whether reflecting on the past, looking toward the future, sharing an individual story with a broad audience, or trying to reach the intended person—each element has laid the groundwork for this work, ultimately making it a message for no one.
With that in mind, I aimed to be as “genuine” as possible. I didn’t want to cloak my feelings in forced self-pity or dwell on regrets. My goal was simply to express my current state of being. This means keeping my expression free of falsehoods to preserve its authenticity and taking personal responsibility for my actions, at least to myself. All of these elements are woven together and entrusted to the intangible essence of “Hikari.”z
