The Holdens, based in Beppu, Oita, will release their debut album ‘RAIMUGI’ on October 23 (Wednesday).
Formed in 2018 by childhood friends, The Holdens is a four-piece band that blends influences from glam rock and punk with a pop-oriented, classic rock ‘n’ roll sound. The band’s name is inspired by Holden Caulfield, the protagonist of J.D. Salinger’s The Catcher in the Rye.
Their debut album, RAIMUGI, will be released by NEWFOLK, known for artists like Typhoon Club, Anju, and Lucky Old Sun. The album features ten tracks, including a new recording of their representative song ‘Dracula,’ which was also released as a 7-inch single. A preview with snippets of all the tracks is available on YouTube.
The Holdens are scheduled to perform as the opening act at the NEWFOLK label event, NEWFOLK -5th Anniversary- vol.3, at Spotify O-EAST in Shibuya, Tokyo on October 12 (Saturday). They will also have a pre-sale of RAIMUGI CDs at the event.
