The Japanese teaser and poster for the film ‘Back to Black’: The Amy Winehouse Story, set to be released nationwide on November 22, have been unveiled.
The film depicts the life of the exceptional singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse, who passed away at the age of 27 in 2011. It covers her journey from her teenage years starting a career as a singer, through passionate romances and breakups, the creation of her acclaimed album Back to Black, and her rise to global stardom with five Grammy Awards.
Directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, known for Nowhere Boy and ‘Fifty Shades of Grey,’ the film stars Marisa Abela as Amy Winehouse. It portrays Winehouse’s struggles with alcohol, drugs, paparazzi, and long-standing eating disorders, alongside her remarkable ability to convey raw emotion through her distinctive husky voice.
The released teaser features Winehouse’s iconic song “Rehab” and includes glimpses of her time with loved ones, live performances, and the tumultuous moments of her life. The poster showcases Marisa Abela in Winehouse’s signature beehive hairstyle and dramatic eyeliner, accompanied by the striking tagline, “My tears are drying up.”
