Chiaki Sato is set to provide music for the upcoming EP “We Will” by the girl band “Kessoku Band” from Bocchi the Rock!
Bocchi the Rock! has generated significant buzz, with the film adaptation of the series, divided into two parts, Bocchi the Rock! Part 1 and Bocchi the Rock! Re:/Re:Re:, surpassing ¥1.1 billion in box office revenue. The band “Kessoku Band” has also expanded its presence by performing at events such as JAPAN JAM 2024 and ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2024. Starting September 8 (Sunday), they will embark on their nationwide tour, “Kessoku Band ZEPP TOUR 2024 ‘We Will,'” covering five cities.
The new EP “We Will,” which will be available for early digital release on September 6 (Friday) and on CD from November 6 (Wednesday), is described as a “concept EP created by the members of Kessoku Band from a slightly futuristic perspective, each contributing their own demos.” The EP features four tracks, and a “RELEASE MOVIE” showcasing the contributing artists will be unveiled on YouTube at 8 PM over four consecutive days starting September 2 (Monday).
Chiaki Sato, the first artist to be revealed, has been active since 2007 as the vocalist/guitarist and songwriter for the band Kinoko Teikoku. After the band went on hiatus in 2019, she continued as a singer-songwriter and has also contributed to commercials, vocal performances, and music production for other artists. In July 2024, she released the theme song “Matatabi” for the film Bakeneko Anzu-chan.
Sato’s contribution to Kessoku Band, “Yume o Takanete,” features the character Hitori Gotou (voiced by Yoshino Aoyama) as the vocalist and is the final track on the EP. Comments from Sato are available on the official Bocchi the Rock! X (formerly Twitter) account.
The “Kessoku Band ZEPP TOUR 2024 ‘We Will'” will feature a live viewing and live stream of the Tokyo performance at Zepp Haneda on November 3 (Sunday). The second lottery for pre-reservations for live viewing will begin on September 14 (Saturday) at 1:00 PM.
