Zutomayo’s latest track, “TAIDADA,” will be the official ending theme for the TV anime Dandadan, debuting in the midnight slot on October 3 (Thursday).
The anime adapts the manga of the same name by Ryuu Yukunobu, which is serialized on Shueisha’s “Shonen Jump+” app. The story follows Momo, a high school girl from a family of mediums who believes in ghosts but dismisses aliens, and her classmate Okarun, an occult fanatic who believes in aliens but denies ghosts. To prove each other wrong, Momo ventures to an abandoned hospital rumored to be a UFO hotspot, while Okarun explores a haunted tunnel. Their journey leads them to face extraordinary and mind-bending supernatural phenomena.
Zutomayo’s ACA, the mastermind behind the lyrics, composition, and vocals of the track, has shared a comment on the exciting collaboration.
I’ve been captivated by Dandadan since it was serialized on Jump+, from the very first issue to the latest. As someone who admires Mind Gal, I’ve been intrigued by Ayase Momo, but it was Okarun’s line about being an amateur that really struck me, and I made a note of it in iCloud. The idea of enemies helping each other out resonated with me. I want to delve deeper into this, battle together, and not overlook the trivial things. I created this song inspired by a feeling of happiness akin to a cozy four-and-a-half tatami mat room, something that might evoke a sense of exhaustion leading to restful sleep or a vulnerability as sweet as delicious curry. I hope you enjoy it.

The anime will be broadcast nationwide simultaneously every Thursday at 12:26 AM on the MBS/TBS network’s 28 stations under the “Super Animeism TURBO” slot. Additionally, the opening theme has been confirmed as “Otonoke” by Creepy Nuts.
