The film ‘Saw X’ is set to be released in Japan on October 18th.
The ‘Saw’ series, a psycho-thriller franchise that celebrates its 20th anniversary since the release of the first film in 2024, is known for its shocking content. The series revolves around the infamous killer “Jigsaw,” who forces people who squander their lives to participate in life-or-death games. With its extreme game scenarios and unpredictable storylines, the series has captivated audiences. ‘Saw X,’ the 10th installment, is set between the original ‘Saw’ (2004) and ‘Saw II’ (2005). The film follows John Kramer, aka “Jigsaw,” who, after being diagnosed with terminal cancer and given only a short time to live, sets up a death game against deceitful fraudsters and doctors conducting experimental treatments in Mexico.
Kevin Greutert, who has been involved with the ‘Saw’ series as an editor since the first film and directed the third installment, will direct this film. James Wan and Leigh Whannell, the creators of the ‘Saw’ series and collaborators on the Insidious series, will serve as executive producers. Tobin Bell reprises his role as John Kramer, aka Jigsaw, and Shawnee Smith returns as Amanda, Jigsaw’s successor.
With the announcement of the Japanese release, a teaser visual has also been revealed, featuring a macabre mask resembling Jigsaw’s face made of numerous arms.
