The ‘EVANGELION CROSSING EXPO – Evangelion Great Exhibition – Tokyo Return’ will be held at the Roppongi Museum in Minato-ku, Tokyo, from September 13 (Friday) to October 22 (Tuesday).
Known colloquially as ‘Eva Expo,’ the exhibition explores the collaboration history of ‘Evangelion’ from the 1995 anime series to the 2021 film ‘Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time’ through over 4,000 exhibits. The tour started at Shibuya Hikarie in Tokyo in July 2022 and has traveled to seven locations nationwide, with the Roppongi stop being positioned as the ‘Tokyo Return.’
New displays not seen in the previous Shibuya Tokyo exhibition will be featured in Roppongi. These include a life-size figure of “Ayanami Rei (tentative),” a 3.5m, 100kg “Giant Spear of Longinus,” the “Giant Evangelion Unit-01” that has captivated eventgoers, and a “Progressive Knife” recreating the scene where it pierces an Angel’s core. The life-size figure of “Ayanami Rei (tentative)” is a full-size reproduction of the illustration from the 2013 ‘Evangelion Exhibition’ held at Matsuya Ginza in Tokyo, making its Tokyo debut in 11 years.
Additionally, in conjunction with the Roppongi exhibition, a collaboration with the Roppongi logo has been announced. Pre-sale tickets with an acrylic keychain featuring an illustration of Evangelion Mark.6 and the Roppongi logo have been on sale since July 20 (Saturday), with further merchandise expected in the future.
