A.P.C. will release their collaboration collection “INTERACTION #25” with Tame Impala on Thursday, July 18th.
Known for their “INTERACTION” projects featuring small-scale collections, A.P.C. has previously collaborated with various brands such as Lacoste, sacai, JJJJound, and icons like Catherine Deneuve, Jane Birkin, Katie Holmes, and Kid Cudi.
For their 25th edition, they teamed up with Kevin Parker, leader of the Australian band Tame Impala, to explore “psychedelic minimalism” through meticulously designed pieces that harmonize with the band’s technicolor sound world. A.P.C. founder Jean Touitou reflected on Tame Impala, saying, “When I listened to them, it felt like everything I’ve loved since the 1960s, from Soft Machine to Pink Floyd, was encapsulated. I immediately loved their unique musical style and seemingly effortless aesthetic.”
The collection features pastel tones, earth colors, and relaxed silhouettes inspired by 1970s Australian post-hippie groups, communities, and Kevin Parker’s personal elements like meditation. Items include heavyweight jerseys, fleece, and denim dyed with environmentally-friendly mineral dyes in pastel yellow, pink, and charcoal gray, sourced to meet sustainable practices and Kevin’s preferences.
Tame Impala’s signature psychedelic touch is reflected in the multicolored alpaca sweaters and striped corduroy pants, with original accessories adding accents, such as logo-embellished bucket hats, sunglasses, and denim bags in pale pink, faded pink, and charcoal gray. Additionally, a white cotton T-shirt featuring the title of Tame Impala’s song “breathe deeper” in silk-screen print reflects the theme of meditation. All items in this collection are unisex.
The collection will be available at the official online store, Daikanyama HOMME, Shonan, Kanazawa, Nagoya, Kyoto, and Fukuoka stores from July 18 (Thu).
