The survival action thriller film ‘Abigail’ will be released in Japan in the fall.
When kidnappers abduct 12-year-old Ballerina Abigail, the daughter of a wealthy man, they plan to keep the girl under overnight surveillance in a suburban mansion in order to obtain a $50 million ransom. However, Abigail is a “ballerina vampire” (a dancing vampire), and the kidnappers turn around and lock her up. The film is about the kidnappers who are forced to survive 24 hours a day while being terrorized by Abigail.
Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of Radio Silence, known for their work on 2019’s ‘Ready or Not’ and 2022’s ‘Scream,’ ‘M3GAN,’ offered by Universal Pictures, has been generating buzz. Alisha Weir, noted for Netflix’s ‘Matilda the Musical,’ stars as Abigail, with Melissa Barrera, Kathryn Newton, Dan Stevens, Kevin Durand, Angus Cloud, and Giancarlo Esposito joining the cast as kidnappers.
In conjunction with the release of the film, a Japanese theatrical trailer was also released. It includes the scene where the kidnappers kidnap Abigail and take her to the mansion, Abigail dancing and approaching the kidnappers with an innocent smile on her face, and the kidnappers being frightened by her.
