The Japanese release date of ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2,’ a sequel to the horror film ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey,’ has been set for August 9 (Friday), and a teaser visual and a special trailer have been released.
The previous ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey,’ released in 2023, was a live-action horror film made possible by the expiration of the copyright protection period of the children’s novel “Winnie-the-Pooh”), which was the original story, and its release into the public domain in a succession of countries. Despite a very low budget of only $100,000, the film was a worldwide hit, grossing $4.2 million and creating quite a stir in Japan. It also won the Golden Raspberry Award, the “Razzie Award” for the worst film in 2023.
‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2,’ audiences can expect an even more intense display of bloodshed and carnage than the first installment. The film features a brutal and tragic horror story centered around Pooh and his ‘evil companions.’ Rhys Frake-Waterfield returns as director, while Scott Chambers, who produced the first film, stars and produces this sequel. The screenplay is by Matt Leslie, known for ‘Summer of 84.’ Simon Callow, renowned for his roles in ‘Amadeus’ and ‘Shakespeare in Love,’ also appears in the film.”
The teaser visual shows Pooh holding a chainsaw with flames blazing, staring at the viewer with an indescribable expression.
The special trailer features a lively beat, and clips of Pooh capturing a crying woman and terrorizing a group of rowdy youths at a club.
