Summer Whales’ first EP “Doughy” will be released on CD on Wednesday, July 17. In addition, “Stroller” from the EP will be distributed in advance on June 19 (Wed.).
The band, consisting of Aoi (Vo/Gt) and Ryoga Kubo (Gt), was formed in Kyoto in August 2022. Immediately after their formation, the band released digital singles for four consecutive months, and their appearances at “SUMMER SONIC 2023” and “SYNCHRONICITY’24” attracted a great deal of attention.
The five-song album is their first physical work. The album includes “Stroller,” a four-strike dance number with an “austere groove,” and “Crack! Aoi (Vo) mixed and mastered the album himself, and even supervised the jacket and artwork.
In conjunction with the release, a live recording will be held at BASEMENTBAR in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo on September 1 (Sun) and at CLUB METRO in Kyoto on September 16 (Mon). Guests will be announced later.
