“EPISTROPH presents WONK x cero,” a two-man live concert, will be held at Zepp Shinjuku in Shinjuku, Tokyo, on Monday, August 12 (national holiday).
This two-man show is organized by EPISTROPH, a creative label based on the music of experimental soul band WONK. This is the first time for WONK and cero to perform together.
WONK performed a three-man show with Taiwan’s national soul singers 9m88 and jo0ji on Wednesday, May 1, and is currently working on a new album.Vocalist Kento Nagatsuka contributed a handwritten letter to the exhibition “Kotoba exhibition – I want to deliver to Jibun back then” organized by NiEW in April, and keyboardist Fumitake Ezaki released his first career stage music soundtrack “Kijyo no Kuron” on May 17 (Friday), and each member is also involved in a wide variety of solo activities.
Cero, a pop band from Tokyo belonging to Kakubarizm, just performed at the outdoor festivals “CIRCLE ’24” in Fukuoka and “FUJI & SUN ’24” in Shizuoka in May, and will perform a one-man show at Ebisu LIQUIDROOM in Tokyo on July 18 (Tuesday) for their 20th anniversary. Shohei Takagi, vocalist/guitarist/flutist, provided the music for Hana Hope’s “Rain Or Shine,” released in March, and Tasuku Arauchi, a keyboardist, sampler, and chorus player, also contributed to the music for the stage production of “Saiko no Iede” in February.
Tickets for the concert are now being sold by lottery at e-plus until June 3 (Mon.).
