“Pages | Fukuoka Art Book Fair,” an event where art book creators gather to discuss the appeal of books, will be held for the first time at Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine in Fukuoka for three days from June 14 (Fri.) to 16 (Sun.).
The event will bring together publishers, galleries, designers, and artists who produce art books, zines, and other creative printed materials. There will be an opportunity to share the appeal of books directly with the audience. The goal is to create opportunities to encounter a variety of art books and to develop a culture of art publishing and a diverse community.
Exhibitors include about 100 groups from Japan and abroad, including the Netherlands, Germany, New Zealand, Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Live internet radio “(((RADIO COCONUT)))”, a reading room for learning, thinking and discussing about the “Community Pact” established for the event, and an installation where visitors can experience special scents through art books and words related to “rain”. will also be held.
During the event, there will also be a zine-making workshop by photographer Kotori Kawashima and illustrator Chie Miyazaki, talks by Iro, who runs an art book fair in Seoul, photographer Fumika Endo, and others, a hands-on corner for letterpress printing and silkscreening, and other programs.
Before and after the exhibition, “FRIENDS” will be held in conjunction with local bookstores, galleries, stores, and restaurants in Fukuoka and neighboring areas. Related events include solo exhibitions by Fumika Endo and Akane Nakajima, an exhibition of works by Thomas Kong, and a pop-up featuring exhibitors from the “Pages | Fukuoka Art Book Fair”. The fair will be held on June 14 (Fri.), the first day of the fair.
The opening party “SHENANIGANS (((PAGES OPENING PARTY)))” will be held on the evening of June 14 (Fri.), the first day of the fair. The venue will be manucoffee roasters Whale store in Yakuin, Fukuoka.

The smallest cabinet-sized modern art museum in Fukuoka opened at Dice&Dice, the crossroads of fashion and culture in Fukuoka. Dice&Dice will also exhibit a collage by Thomas Conn, an artist and owner of Kims’ Corner Food, a convenience store that once existed in the suburbs of Chicago, and will sell a collection of his work in conjunction with the fair.

Fumika Endo “Kamuy Mosir

LIBRIS KOBACO, a gallery and bookshop specializing in photography, is holding a solo exhibition of Fumika Endo, a photographer active in the art and fashion world. In addition to LIBRIS KOBACO exhibiting at the fair, a talk event by Endo and Misa Masuda, the head of LIBRIS KOBACO, will be held on Saturday, June 15, from 1:30pm to 2:30pm. This will be an opportunity to delve into the appeal of the artist, whose unique photographic expression that embodies an animistic world is highly acclaimed in the art and fashion worlds, from a variety of perspectives.

Akane Nakajima “Flow

Venue: Blumo
Blumo, a flower base store that has just moved to a new location, will host a solo exhibition by Akane Nakajima, whose collection “Flow” was published by torch press, an exhibitor at Pages. In addition to the drawings included in the collection, works newly drawn for this exhibition will also be on display. Her watercolor drawings of the sensations she gets from the nature around her make us feel as if we are watching the changing seasons in the microscopic world.
