An outdoor listening event “Ear’s Day” will be held at Jinzoji Temple in Kameoka, Kyoto, on Saturday, June 8.
The event, themed “Soundscape,” will feature live performances by artists who evoke soundscapes in a temple garden, an environment away from the hustle and bustle of the city, where visitors can take their time to listen to and experience sounds. In the day camp section, visitors can also enjoy barbecues and bonfires.
Performers include Yufuko Ikema, a singer-songwriter who has garnered attention in the folk scene; Le Makeup, an Osaka singer-songwriter/producer whose album “Odorata” featuring Dove, gummyboy, Tohji, and Ring Roy has attracted a lot of attention; guitarist Shigeo Yoshizawa of YOUR SONG IS GOOD and the unit “Masatomo Yoshizawa, XTAL,” consisting of guitarist Shigetomo Yoshizawa and DJ/producer XTAL. At the venue, barbecue sets will be available for rent for a fee, vegetables and snacks will be sold by BANKSIA GARDEN, and books will be sold by MoMoBooks.
