British artist Jorja Smith will perform in Japan on Tuesday, October 22 at Namba HATCH and Wednesday, October 23 at Toyosu PIT. The Osaka show will be held at Namba HATCH on Tuesday, October 22, and the Tokyo show will be held at Toyosu PIT on Wednesday, October 23.
Jorja Smith is an artist from Walsall, England, who began her career in earnest in January 2016 with the release of “Blue Lights” on SoundCloud. In November of the same year, she released her first EP, “Project 11. “Her first album, “Lost & Found,” was released in June 2018 and reached a high of #3 on the UK Album Chart.In 2019, she won the “Brit Award” for “Best British Female Solo Artist Award” at the “Brit Awards” in 2019. She was also nominated for “Best New Artist” at the “Grammy Awards” in the same year.
In 2023, she released “Falling or Flying,” her second album, and in 2024, she released “falling or flying (reimagined),” a re-imagining of songs from that album, recorded in London with her longtime band. The reimagined album was arranged and produced by Amane Suganami, a British-born Japanese-American.
This will be the second time in six years since their first visit to Japan, “Summer Sonic” in 2018, and their first solo show in Japan. Tickets have been on pre-sale for Creativeman members since May 14 (Tue), and will go on general sale on June 29 (Sat).
