“FOODIES’ PICNIC” will be held at Yebisu Garden Place in Tokyo from June 7 (Fri.) to July 15 (Mon.).
The event will feature open-air cinema screenings and a chance to enjoy the flavors of popular restaurants in Yebisu Garden Place. Open-air cinema screenings will be held on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays during the event period, and from June 14 (Fri.), restaurants in Yebisu Garden Place will open weekly special stalls at the food terrace specially set up in the facility’s Clock Square.
The outdoor cinema event titled “PICNIC CINEMA” features a 280-inch large screen on the approximately 300 square meters artificial turf area of the center square. Alongside A24’s ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ and Spike Lee’s recording of the Broadway show ‘American Utopia’ based on the album of the same name by Talking Heads’ David Byrne, films such as ‘Her Love Boils Bathwater,’ the commercial feature film debut of director Ryota Nakano starring Rie Miyazawa, will be screened. Complementing the weekly rotating restaurant pop-ups at the Clock Plaza, the event showcases a total of 19 films, focusing on those with memorable food scenes. The outdoor cinema is produced by the mobile movie theater “Kino Igloo,” which travels nationwide.
In addition, there will be a number of other events, such as the annual yoga class, that will allow visitors to feel a pleasant sense of openness while still being in the city.
