Sisters In The Velvet Announces Lead Single from Debut Album alongside Solo Show in June

Tokyo-based alternative rock band Sisters In The Velvet released their single “speedy?” digitally on Wednesday, May 8.

Sisters In The Velvet was formed by Aoyama Tatsuro (Vo / Gt / Key) and will begin full-fledged activities in 2019, with roots in 1990s alternative, grunge, and shoegaze, including NIRVANA, and will release their first single in 2020. In 2022, the band released “Blanc Sun Song,” featuring piano and strings, and “In 10 Pages,” which was created using a drum beat as its starting point. In April 2024, NiEW hosted the free admission music event “exPoP!!!!! Vol. 161,” also hosted by NiEW in April 2024.

“speedy?” is a track from their first full-length album “Leaves,” which is scheduled to be released on May 22 (Wed.), and follows the release of “The painter” in April. This is the first single from the album, following the release of “The painter” in April. The band has commented that “it is a killer tune with a new interpretation of the band’s signature alternative rock sound,” and the guitar solo that roars out toward the end of the song is a major highlight that is sure to be applauded at the live performance.

In addition, the band is scheduled to hold a record release live performance at BASEMENTBAR in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo, on June 16 (Sun.) in conjunction with the album release. This will be her first solo live performance, and tickets are now available for reservation via a dedicated form.
