Overmono, a duo from Wales, England, will perform solo in Japan. The Osaka show will be held at Umeda Club Quattro in Umeda on Wednesday, October 16, and the Tokyo show will be held at Spotify O-EAST in Shibuya on Friday, October 18.
Overmono is the UK bass, breakbeat, and techno duo of brothers Ed Russell and Tom Russell. The duo had previously been making music individually, but released their debut EP as Overmono, “Arla,” in 2016, followed by their first album, “Good Lies,” in 2023.
Known for their active collaboration and remixing, they have remixed Rosalía and Thom Yorke, as well as the solo project For Those I For Those I Love (Overmono Remix)”, a remix of a song by David Balfe’s solo project For Those I Love, was released in 2020 and has become one of the highlights of Overmono’s live shows in recent years.
In April 2024, Overmono released “Turn The Page,” a remix of a track from the solo project The Streets by British rapper Mike Skinner, who hails from Birmingham, UK. The song was originally featured on The Streets’ debut album “Original Pirate Material” (2002) and had been frequently performed during Overmono’s live shows.
This will be Overmono’s second visit to Japan in about a year and a half, since the “FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL” in 2023. Tickets are available until May 13th (Mon.) by lottery for the first official advance.
