Kornél Kovács, a DJ/producer based in Stockholm, Sweden, will be touring Japan on June 7 (Fri) at CIRCUS Tokyo in Shibuya, Tokyo and on June 8 (Sat) at CIRCUS Osaka in Shinsaibashi, Osaka.
Kornél Kovács founded Studio Barnhus with Axel Boman and Peter Nordkvist in 2010. Initially a studio space, it later evolved into a DJ unit and record label, with over 100 releases to date. 2016 saw the release of his debut album “The Bells” on the label, which made the UK media outlet Mixmag’s Top 50 The album garnered attention, reaching #2 on the UK media’s “Mixmag” Top 50 Albums list and #5 on the “DJ mag” Top 50 Albums list. He has also played shows at prestigious clubs such as Berlin’s Panorama Bar and London’s Fabric, as well as main stage appearances at festivals around the world.
This is Kornél’s first visit to Japan in about 7 years, since he first came to Japan as Studio Barnhus with his trio. This will be Kovács’ first visit to Japan as a solo artist. The event was organized in collaboration with CIRCUS Tokyo, based on the strong wishes of the members of CYK, a house music collective. In addition to Kovács and CYK, DJ SHIKISAI, moriura, 11PM, and others are scheduled to perform at the Tokyo show, with the Osaka show to be announced at a later date.
