7-inch Vinyl Release: Ruka’s Shintaro Sakamoto and Seiichi Yamamoto Collaborative Single, with Meitei Remix

Model/singer Ruka’s 7-inch single “Karada ga Shibireru Atama ga Yorokobu (体がしびれる 頭がよろこぶ)” will be released on July 17 (Wed). In addition, the song “”Karada ga Shibireru Atama ga Yorokobu (Meidtei remix)” will be released on April 3 (Wed.) as an advance distribution.

The 7-inch version of the title track, written by Shintaro Sakamoto and composed/produced by Seiichi Yamamoto, was released on October 2023 as a 12-inch and a digital download. The remix, which will be included on the B-side and distributed in advance, was created by Mei Ding, whose sound is characterized by a fusion of contemporary sound techniques with electronic/ambient and other sounds from Japan’s past. The artwork features new photography by Saku Sawatari.

Ruka, originally from China, began her modeling career in Japan in 2015 while studying abroad. She has appeared in music videos such as Sakanaction’s “Tabun, Kaze” and indigo la End’s “Tulip.” In 2021, she debuted as a singer with a “Kudou desu” cover by Yurayura Teikoku. That same year, she released “Tooi Koe,” produced by Masatoshi Mashima, and “Karada ga Shibireru Atama ga Yorokobu,” marking her third single.

On Friday, April 5, the band will make a guest appearance at the 7th anniversary performance of UNION SODA, a rental space in Tenjin, Fukuoka. Tickets for the show are on sale at Livepocket.
