Heya no Sumi’s stage play “Taihaiteki Kohukuron” will be performed at the Little Theater Rakuen in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo, from April 5 (Fri.) to 7 (Sun.).
Heya no Sumi is a theater company led by Yota Kawano. Kawano launched the theater company ScattoWright, the predecessor of Heya no Sumi, when he was in his first year of high school, and has mainly produced absurdist contrast works.
The performance was born from the question of what would happen if we could throw off our responsibilities because we felt that “we and our minds are incompatible,” and will weave a conversational drama of backward happiness around a nonexistent system. The play is written and directed by Yota Kawano. In addition to Kawano, the cast includes Nana Tsuji, Wakaba Hiroi, and Osawakun.
