Ao Omae’s latest novel, “Pin Geinin, Inuhiko Takasaki,” will be published on Friday, March 22.
Ao Omae’s novel “Nuigurumi to Shaberu Hito wa Yasashii” was made into a movie in 2020, and “Omoroi igi Irannen” was a finalist for the Sakunosuke Oda Award in 2021.
The novel follows the life of Inuhiko Takasaki, a pin comedian, and his rival Anzai Nikorogashi for about 20 years, and depicts the conflict between “being successful” and “being easily consumed” that clings to comedians.
On the obi, Yarlends’ Junnosuke Dei comments, “A comedian is “the best hell I have ever experienced in my life!”.
