Auction of Banksy and Other Street Art Masterpieces Welcomes Bids from Japan

Julien’s Auctions will be hosting a “Street Art Auction” starting at 10 a.m. on February 22nd (Thursday), local time.

Julian’s Auction is an auction house based in Beverly Hills, California, USA, that holds auctions of high-profile items from the film, music, sports, and art markets. This year’s auction will feature works by BANKSY, who established the street art phenomenon of using public spaces such as streets, walls, and shadows of buildings as canvases for painting and spray painting, INVADER, who painted aliens from arcade games such as Space Invaders, and Jamie Reed, who created the artwork for the Sex Pistols. JAMIE REID, who has created artwork for the Sex Pistols, and others.

A digital catalog listing all of the exhibited works is now available, including “GANGSTA RAT – LIVE” and “MAYFAIR PAPARAZZI RAT,” which depict rats that are synonymous with BANKSY, as well as INVADER’s representative ceramic tile works, Andy Warhol’s “Gold Ring” and “GANGSTA RAT – LIVE” and “MAYFAIR PAPARAZZI RAT”. The auction also lists 20 items, including INVADER’s representative ceramic tile works and a gold ring owned by Andy Warhol, along with the expected bidding price.
