NiEW’s Free Concert exPoP!!!!! to Showcase HALLEY, Shetona Yui, SATOH, and Kiichi Mochizuki

NiEW’s admission-free music event “exPoP!!!!! Vol. 159” will be held on Thursday, February 22 at Spotify O-nest in Shibuya, Tokyo.

This year’s event will feature four groups: HALLEY, Shetona Yui, SATOH, and Kiichi Mochizuki, who was selected through an audition held within TuneCore Japan, one of Japan’s largest music distribution services.

HALLEY is an R&B band formed after meeting at Waseda University’s black music circle “the Naleio,” and is scheduled to release its first album “From Dusk Till Dawn” in March and to perform at “SXSW 2024” in the United States. The band will also perform at “SXSW 2024” in the U.S.

Shetona Yui is a singer-songwriter who graduated from Osaka College of Music at the top of her class, majoring in music creation. While in school, she was featured on DJ HASEBE’s single “Crying Over Moonlight” in 2021, and is scheduled to release her second EP “TINY LAND” in March.

SATOH is a rock duo consisting of Linna Figg and Kyazm. They have been attracting attention for the event “FLAG,” which they lead, and in September 2023, they will hold the largest-ever “FLAG2023” at Spotify O-EAST in Shibuya, inviting artists from abroad. In January, he debuted his major label with the song “OK” from TOY ‘S FACTORY.

Kiichi Mochizuki is a singer-songwriter who started his career as a storyteller in Hokkaido and now lives and works mainly in Tokyo. 2022 saw the release of his first EP “Forget Rightly”, the title track of which was instantly selected for Spotify’s “New Music Wednesday”, “Next UP”, and many others. The title track was quickly selected for playlists on Spotify, including “New Music Wednesday” and “Next UP,” and the CD version was released in 2023, creating a buzz.

The collaboration between TuneCore Japan and “exPoP!!!!! The collaboration between TuneCore Japan and “exPoP” will begin in November 2023. So far, Masaya Kudo, Kinami, and KLEPTO have performed.
