The London production of “Good Bye,” a stage work by Kyoto-based theater company Chiten and the band Kukangendai, will be held at The Coronet Theatre in Notting Hill, London, from Tuesday, March 5, to Saturday, March 9.
The production is a collage of Osamu Dazai’s unfinished posthumous work, the novel of the same name, and his later works. It had its debut in 2018. ‘Chiten’ is a theater company known for reconstructing and collaging diverse texts using their unique methods of performance. Their distinctive delivery involves shifting the intonation and rhythm of words. Additionally, ‘Kukangendai,’ based in Kyoto like ‘Chiten,’ is an alternative rock band responsible for the music. They have collaborated on numerous occasions to bring music to ‘Chiten’s’ theatrical productions.
Tickets for the London performance are available for reservation through The Coronet Theatre’s official website. Additionally, in Japan, on February 26 (Monday), an open rehearsal with English subtitles will be held at ‘Anderslow,’ the atelier of ‘Chiten’ in Kitashirakawa, Kyoto. Reservations for this viewing can be made through the dedicated form on the ‘Chiten’ website.

About the open rehearsal
Before the London performance, Chiten’s atelier “Under Slow” (Kitashirakawa, Kyoto) will open rehearsals to the public. A “rehearsal rehearsal” is a rehearsal in which the actors rehearse from the beginning to the end of the piece without stopping once. This time, costumes and English subtitles will be provided.
