The third lineup for PUNKSPRING 2024, which will be held on March 16 and 17 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, has been announced, and Hi-STANDARD will perform for the first time.
SUM 41, ZEBRAHEAD, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, NECK DEEP, NOFX, THE DAMNED, and THE VANDALS had previously been announced for the event. This will also be the last live concert in Japan for SUM 41, which has already announced its breakup, and NOFX, which has indicated that it will disband.
Since the death of drummer Akira Tsuneoka, this will be the second show for Hi-STANDARD after PIZZA OF DEATH’s “SATANIC CARNIVAL 2023.” They will perform on the second day, Sunday, the 17th. The headliner of the day, Fat Mike, vocalist/bassist of NOFX, is also known as the founder of Fat Wreck Chords, an American punk label that also handled Hi-STANDARD’s overseas releases. This will be the last time the two groups will perform together.
Hi-STANDARD will also appear as special guests on NOFX’s “THE FINAL JAPAN TOUR,” which will tour Aichi, Osaka, and Kanagawa.
