Daido Moriyama to Host Solo Exhibition “TOKYO” in Ginza, Showcasing Lesser-Seen Works

Daido Moriyama’s solo exhibition ‘TOKYO’ is currently underway at the Akio Nagasawa Gallery in Ginza, Tokyo, starting from January 11th (Thursday).

Identifying himself as a “street snapshot photographer,” Moriyama Daido has been prolific in creating works centered around Tokyo, including the ‘Record’ series and ‘Tokyo Boogie Woogie.’ In 2021, he held a joint exhibition with Shomei Tomatsu titled ‘Moriyama – Tomatsu: Tokyo’ at the MEP (Maison Européenne de la Photographie) in Paris. The following year, the exhibition transformed with a new display and title as ‘TOKYO REVISITED. Daido Moriyama with Shomei Tomatsu’ at MAXXI (National Museum of 21st Century Arts) in Rome, touring under the revised setup and exhibition title.

TOKYO” features a selection of works by Daido Moriyama that have rarely been exhibited in Japan. In addition, Daido Moriyama related books are on sale at the venue.
