Okinawa-based trio HOME released their debut EP, “HOME EP,” through digital platforms on Wednesday, December 13. They also unveiled the music video for the EP’s track “Maybe I should die with you.”
Formed in 2020 by sei (Vo), o-png (PC), and shun (Gt), HOME made their debut in August 2023 with the digital single “Lucy.” From October to November, they made consecutive appearances at festivals in Asian countries, including South Korea’s “Zandari Festa” and “SSAM,” Singapore’s “AXEAN Festival,” and Taiwan’s “LUCfest.” They also participated in multiple festivals in Okinawa Prefecture and performed at the free live concert “exPoP!!!!! Vol. 156,” organized by NiEW, garnering attention both domestically and internationally.
The EP includes three previously released tracks, including their signature song “Lucy,” and introduces two new songs: the alternative R&B track “愛のうた” (Love Song) and the doo-wop-inspired “lululu.” With a total of five tracks, the EP showcases their cross-genre approach while maintaining a commitment to universal pop sensibilities, highlighting their distinctive musical identity. The artwork, crafted by member o-png, carries forward the cohesive design aesthetic seen in their previous works.
The music video for “Maybe I should die with you” is directed by Hagiwara Yohei, known for his work on visual projects for artists like iri and TENDRE. The video features prose generated by AI, summarizing the lyrics, creating a decadent and emotive atmosphere.
Furthermore, they have announced the “HOME PARTY’24” release parties in Tokyo and Osaka. The Tokyo event will take place on March 16 (Saturday) at CIRCUS TOKYO in Shibuya, while the Osaka event is scheduled for March 17 (Sunday) at CIRCUS OSAKA in Shinsaibashi. This marks their first live performance in the Kansai region. Early reservations for tickets are being accepted until December 18 (Monday).
