“Van Gogh Alive” Tokyo Exhibition, an immersive exhibition that allows visitors to experience Van Gogh’s world in a new way, will be held at the Terada Warehouse G1 Building on Tennozu Isle, Tokyo, from January 6 (Sat) to March 31 (Sun), 2024.
“Van Gogh Alive,” created by the Australian planning company Grande Experiences, has toured 99 cities worldwide and attracted more than 9 million visitors. In Japan, the exhibition will be held in Nagoya in 2022, followed by Kobe in 2023, and will land in Tokyo as the 100th city in the world.
The exhibition will feature more than 3,000 images of Van Gogh’s works projected on walls, pillars, floors, and other surfaces in a large, pitch-black exhibition hall with classical music playing in the background. The latest technology of multi-channel motion graphics, surround sound, and up to 40 high-definition projectors are combined to create a space where visitors can experience the works from new angles.
Visitors who come during January will be presented with either a “Sunflower” or “Starry Moonlit Night” sticker at random.
