YOASOBI’s “Idol” ranked No. 42 on the Year-End Characters Billboard Global 200 in 2023.
The song, the first J-POP artist to make the Top 50 in the chart’s history, is the theme song for the first season of the anime “[Suishin no Ko]”. It is based on the novel “45510” written by Akasa Akasaka, the author of the manga “[Suishinoko]” on which the anime is based. It also reached No. 19 on the “Global Excl. U.S.” chart, which excludes U.S. data from the “Global 200,” making it the highest-ranking J-POP song of the year.
YOASOBI is preparing for an Asia tour “YOASOBI ASIA TOUR 2023-2024” from December to January 2024, and has now announced the addition of a performance in Jakarta, Indonesia, which will be her first solo show, as well as details of performances in Singapore and Malaysia, venues that had not been announced. The details of the Singapore and Malaysia performances, the venues of which had not yet been disclosed, have also been announced. The Singapore show will be held at Resorts World Sentosa on Thursday, January 11, 2024, the Malaysia show at Zepp Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, January 14, 2024, and the Indonesia show at Istora Senayan on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.
