Marvel Unveils New Trailer for “Madame Webb”

The trailer for “Madame Webb” (original title: MADAME WEB), a new film in the Marvel series to be released in 2024, has been released simultaneously worldwide.

The film follows Cassie, the young form of Madame Webb, who saves Spider-Man’s life by foreseeing the future and telepathically, and is noted as a character different from other heroes with physical special abilities. Cassie, an EMT who has gained the ability to predict the future after a life-and-death accident, is assigned to protect three girls she meets by chance from a mysterious man in a black mask and suit, but everything is connected by a grand thread of “fate” along with the secret of Cassie’s birth in Marvel’s first full-scale mystery/suspense film. It is Marvel’s first full-fledged mystery/suspense film.

The main character, Madame Webb, is played by Dakota Johnson of “Fifty Shades of Grey” series and “Suspiria”. Other cast members include Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabella Merced, Tahar Rahim, Emma Roberts, and Adam Scott. The film will be directed by S. J. Clarkson, who directed the “Marvel/Jessica Jones” series and “Collateral: Where the Truth Lies.

The trailer released this time includes a scene in which Cassie uses her “future prediction” ability to protect the girls from an attack by a mysterious man, footage of the accident that triggered Cassie’s ability, and a scene in which the mysterious man “Ezekiel Sims” and Cassie’s mother work together on researching spiders. There are also scenes reminiscent of connections to previous Marvel series films, such as the mysterious figure jumping from car to car traveling with superhuman Spider-Man-like movements.

A video featuring Dakota Johnson and director S.J. Clarkson talking about Madame Webb was also released simultaneously. In the special video, Dakota Johnson says that “intelligence is Madame Webb’s superpower,” and the director says, “Madame Webb’s power is invisible.
