PaperBagLunchbox’s four EPs and albums have been remastered and released by subscription on Wednesday, November 15.
PaperBagLunchbox, which debuted in 2006, was featured in the music magazine “Snoozer” and received rave reviews from Soichiro Tanaka, but the four-piece rock band suddenly disbanded in 2011 while on tour without completing the final leg. The band is also known for the fact that Yosuke Nakano, currently a member of Emerald, was in charge of vocals and guitar.
The band’s indie debut albums “PBLEP” and “Bedfontown,” “Lost & Found ~2006-2010~” which was released exclusively at live venues, and “Ground Disco,” their last album, have now been released. Both albums were remastered for distribution, with “PBLEP” and “Bedfontown” remastered by Hiroaki Kanai, producer of both albums, and “Lost & Found ~2006-2010~” and “Ground Disco” remastered by Masuko Mashiki, known for his work with ROVO and DUB SQUAD. Mashiko Mashiki, known for his work with ROVO and DUB SQUAD, remastered the tracks.
The music video for “Watching you” from “Ground Disco” has been re-released on wonderground music’s YouTube channel. This is the band’s only remaining music video.

At the end of the music bubble, I challenged the world of music with a fragile mind and body. Looking back, it is like a memory from a previous life. A total of 33 songs were supposed to be a set of bitter memories. However, after 10 years, the sound has changed, and Kanai-san has updated the 1st EP and 1st Album to a sound that can withstand streaming distribution. I would like to thank Mr. Masuko for carving out the band’s originality that we couldn’t express at the time, and wonderground for allowing us to distribute the songs. All the songs I was involved with are now accessible. If they can be played again, I feel a little rewarded for the 10 years I spent on that music.

The first album “Bedfont Town”. For example, in my case, I wanted to sing only vocally, so I didn’t want to use harmonies as much as possible, and I didn’t want to use tonic chords as much as possible, etc. I had “personal preferences. Then, after a gap of 5 years, the 2nd and 3rd albums were released. It may have been a PBL project that not only the four PBL members but also everyone involved in PBL pushed forward only with their “personal preoccupation. Personal commitment” is something that is common in the case of one person’s activities, but in the case of a band or a team, it becomes difficult to stick to it. However, PBL has made this difficulty into a work of art with 100% purity. Of course, it was by chance. It was also by chance that the four members met. Let me use the word “miracle” instead of the word “coincidence. Personally, I think PBL was a “miracle soundtrack.
