Harapeko Penguin! ‘s stage play “Triple Papapas! ” will be performed at Shinjuku Theater Tops in Tokyo from December 13 (Wed) to 17 (Sun).
Harapeko Penguin! is a theater troupe founded in 2002 by Hideaki Shirasaka and Ichita Mihara, both members of Waseda University’s theater club”Engeki Kurabu”. Since its launch, the troupe has put on one or two theater performances a year, all of which are written and directed by Shirasaka.
This performance is a home comedy about three fathers and his daughter “Michika,” a high school senior. Since the venue for the performance is Shinjuku Theatre Tops, which was the company’s goal when it was launched, the content of the work also returns to its roots, focusing on the themes of “family” and “friends,” which the company has dealt with in many of its productions.
It is written and directed by Hideaki Shirasaka. In addition to Shirasaka, the cast includes Ichita Mihara, Kyosuke Kawamoto, Koji Murata, Mai Ishii, Kiro, Kasumi Kuwata, Emi Nitta, Yuriko Maeda, Akiko Matsuzaki, Naoko Yakushiji, Chiaki Yokota, Amane Yoshida, Yoshihiro Kumano, Shinji Sonoda, and Yoshiki Yamamoto.
